Debate is already brewing over who should get credit for Bin Laden’s fall.
I’m a fantasy writer and not a political pundit. What better way to put this all
in perspective than to use America’s favorite past-time…baseball.
John Public: We’re live on Sunday night baseball at the U.S.
Liberty Dome. It’s the top of the 9th inning, and America leads Al qaeda 2-1.
Bush has pitched a spectacular game thus far, striking out 11 batters, and
holding Al qaeda to 1 run. There are two outs with a man on second and the tying run on third.
And here’s the pitch…ball 4…and the bases are loaded.
Bob Freedom: John, that’s the 90th pitch Bush has thrown and
he’s definately showing signs of fatigue.
John Public: A time-out has been called, and the manager,
George Electorate is coming to the mound.
Bob Freedom: Bush has put on an amazing performance, but now
you have to wonder whether Electorate just wants to talk things over or bring in the reliever.
John Public: And Electorate is signalling the
bullpen…they’re bringing in the lefty. Two Outs, bases are loaded, And Obama is on the mound.
Here’s the pitch. Swing and a miss strike one.
Bob Freedom: Obama is not wasting anytime; going right at
him with the heater.
John Public: 2 outs, 0-1 the count, and here’s the
pitch…swing and a miss with the breaking ball, strike two.
Bob Freedom: Two outs now…Al qaeda’s hopes could being
hanging on this pitch. Now we will see if Obama can finish what Bush started.
John Public: 2 outs , 0-2 the count, and here’s the
pitch…curve ball, strike three. Obama tricked him with the power curve and the game is over. America wins, 2-1.
Bob Freedom: What an outstanding performance by the starter
and reliever. Bush pitched 8 2/3 innings and gets the “win”. The “save” will go to the Lefty, Obama. That does it for us. For Bob Freedom, this is John Public and we thank you for tuning into Sunday Night baseball. Once again, Amerca defeats Al qaeda, 2-1.
Me: See? Isn’t that much easier?
