The mid-day hours had long passed and the sun struggled to remain in the
evening sky. What remained of the light shined upon a narrow path as a beauty beyond words made her way toward a host of observers. She was not alone, for there were others with feminine qualities following close behind.
As the young beauty closed the distance between herself and the masses, a
pair of eyes remained transfixed upon her progression; sizing the graceful
movement of her steps, the gentle breeze that licked her hair, and the
sunlight’s kiss upon her raiment of flowing white.
The man was equally handsome, projecting a countenance of strength and
temperance. Representing his family, he awaited with bated breath as the young maiden drew close. He too was not alone, flanked by gentlemen
who looked upon the assembly of two families.
An overwhelming sense of expectation filled the air as the families readied
themselves for the event to come. But this was neither a battlefield, nor a
throng of souls to remedy a dispute. And when the young bride took her groom’s hand, a wave of serenity sheltered those in attendance like a warm cloak.
No two families could have been more different. No two families could have
traversed the divide between them. But as the bride and groom exchanged their vows, the expanse of their differences melted away like spring’s first warmth. When the couple looked into each other’s eyes, all who witnessed knew without question the love between them would last forever.
