On Saturday, March 24th, was Oregon’s Pagan Faire that took place at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro, Oregon. The venue consisted of multiple vendors selling their goods and services related to paganism and mysticism. With the main exhibition Hall, Food and drink were available, and the prices were reasonable for this type of venue. There were also musicians who played an assortment of celtic music while the vendors sold their wares.
This year, I was invited by Nancy Meyers to co-vendor with the Witch’s Cottage – A place where you could obtain the finest brooms and assortments of incense. Since I had no printed books available yet, this would be an off the cuff appearance by me. Without my novel, I decided to display some of my t-shirts, mugs and posters – which by the way look absolutely fantastic. But my main objective was to have the opportunity to talk and answer questions related to Shadows of Kings.
The day went very well. I had the wonderful experience with speaking to many individuals who sounded very enthusiastic about my upcoming release. This event only further kindled my anticipation for June 15th – the actual release date of Shadows of Kings.
And of course, what also made the event enjoyable were my sons – the source of my inspiration and joy. They accompanied their grandmother, perusing and tinkering with many items the vendors had on display. My Dragon Knights (as I call them) could not resist having some body paint done by Neverland Faces. And wouldn’t you know it…they chose to have dragons. That’s my boys!
I end this quick article by offering my thanks to all those who spoke with me on Saturday and were patrons of the Witch’s Cottage. Another big ‘thank you’ to Nancy Meyers for granting me the opportunity to vend with her. And a big hug to her friend Kathy for assisting us.
Until we meet again…
